No idea the history of this painting (did do a quick google search for Taku but came up with some interesting results) but it does illustrate how I feel most mornings beautifully. The fact that I only have two cats is beside the point, they still manage to make me feel like this bloke.
Early morning ritual (without fail) cat flap goes thwack around 3am, pitter patter followed by *plonk* on the bed; *meow* *meow* wet nose on the face. This goes on for what feels like ages whilst I attempt to push the offending beast towards the bottom of the bed and he insists he share his cat breath and wet nose with me*. Eventually he settles down and goes to sleep. *thwack* cat flap goes; *pitter* *patter* followed by a somewhat lighter *plonk* wet nose on the face. They then play tag all morning long alternating wet noses; *meows* and nibbles of toes. It’s a wonder I can function at all during the day.
*Trying to hide your face behind your hand doesn’t work either ‘cos that just means the claws come out and frantic swiping at the hand to get to the mouth and nose ensues.
And don’t let me get started on how bath times go!
(and yes I am still alive)
