Aloe

I have never found the Aloe plant to be a terribly pretty looking plant. My ex mother-in-law loved them and had quite the collection of Aloe ornaments about her house. So what has prompted me to suddenly start talking about Aloes?

This has.

Bit of the back story – my folks live in Knysna and very often during the school holidays my two girls go and visit them for some of the holiday and not feeling all that happy with letting them take the bus on their own, we tend to arrange to meet half way. Technically it isn’t half way but hey, we meet at the Albertinia Hotel stay the night and then they go their way and we go ours (we’ve stayed there a number of times and if you like the old British series Fawlty Towers – you’ll love this place).

Albertinia happens to be the home of The House of Aloes and I must say I am extremely impressed with the products I have tried so far, the body cream is sublime and leaves ones hands feeling so soft and supple. I’ve also tried the hair mask and without gushing too much – lets just say it does everything it says it does and more.

On the off chance you may ever be near Albertinia take the time to visit the shop – you won’t regret it. Oh and do stay at the hotel, their food is plentiful {seriously, go hungry} and well known for its quality, not to mention the rather eccentric feel of the place.
